On Using OASIS Q. What do you mean by "paper trade," or "trading on paper." We mean that you don't actually put your money at risk. You pretend to invest by building a "faux" portfolio using one of the tools you can find at Google or Yahoo. That way, you can try out the OASIS Services without actually using your money. You can also get more information from the tip sheet we wrote by clicking here. Q. How much knowledge and experience do I need to use the OASIS service? A. You need to know how to access and use your email account. If you decide to implement an Omega Alert suggestion, you need to know how to execute a buy, stop or sell trade, either by doing it yourself online or by calling your broker and asking them to do it for you. Q. Can I share the buy, sell and stop suggestions you send to me with anyone? A. No. The Omega Alert is circulated on a confidential basis for the benefit on each individual Subscriber and may not be shared with any other person. If OASIS believes or suspects that you have shared with any other person the trading opportunities (i.e., buy, sell, stops) mentioned in the Omega Alerts, your subscription to the service will be terminated and you will be prohibited from receiving any of the current or future Omega Alerts and/or products provided by OASIS. Q. There seems to be a conflict in your statements. On one hand your Terms of Use state that I can't share the information you give me with anyone. On the other hand you suggest that if I don't know how to trade online, I can ask my broker to execute the trade for me. How do you reconcile that? A. As an OASIS subscriber, the Terms of Use require you to keep the information we provide confidential. If you don't trade online, you'll need someone, preferably a license broker, to trade for you. You can provide them only the instructions they require to make the trade on your behalf, e.g., "Buy 200 shares of XYZ at $25.50," or "Stop XYZ at $37.00." You can, if you choose, take their advice regarding the trade. Q. Do I have to trade the first 30 days of the free trial with paper trades? A. No. But, we strongly suggest you take advantage of the free trial to get a feel for the way OASIS works, and to understand the Omega Alerts. Q. You state this takes less than 10 minutes per day, 5 days a week and only 10 minutes of the total 30 minutes per week is during normal business hours. How is that possible? A. Because OASIS does the research and suggests you buy a single stock a week. It takes about ten minutes to make a trade online, or call your broker and tell them to make the trade for you. Each night you'll get an Omega Alert with a suggestion to buy, stop, or sell. Since you're dealing with a single stock a week, and since you're dealing with a single transaction a day, OASIS requires very little of your time. Q. I like what I see on your website, and the OASIS Performance Report is compelling, but I don't have the time to do this even if its only 10 minutes a day. What can I do? A. Although OASIS does not provide individual investment advice, we suggest you call your broker and ask him/her to make the trade for you. If you can't afford the 10 minutes, or less, a day the service requires, OASIS may not be for you. Q. All of the legal stuff on your website, the disclaimers, etc is very unnerving to me. It seems like OASIS is not responsible for anything, is that the case? A. We are responsible for operating a business within all of the stated Federal, State and local laws as it relates to the information service we provide to the public. We are also responsible for publishing one Omega Alert email a night, Sunday through Thursday of every week with a buy, stop or sell suggestion. The legal Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use on the OASIS website are there to protect both our subscribers and ourselves. Q. Why do I need to know how to place my own buy, sell and stop orders? A. Because we are not registered investment advisors or registered dealer/brokers. Thus, we cannot place any trades for you, or provide you personal or individual investment advice. You could, if you choose, have your broker make the trades for you. But, you can only provide them the information required to make the trade, and nothing else. You can, if you choose, take their advice regarding the trade. Q. Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can invest with OASIS? A. We suggest you go to the OASIS Calculator, where you can try various scenarios for yourself. You'll see how all three OASIS services perform with different variables such as investment amount, trading approach, and investment style. You should end up with a sense of the minimums you could invest and still expect a reasonalble NET return. We cannot otherwise suggest or impose an minimum or maximum investment. Q. I would rather have you charge me 30% of my profits from your suggestions than pay you a fixed monthly fee, is this possible? A. No. Omega Alert Stock Information Services is by subscription only. SEC rules preclude us from offering individualized or customized services to subscribers. Q. I stopped getting my nightly Omega Alerts. What happened? A. There are several possible reasons: 1. You stopped paying your subscription fee; 2. You've changed your email address without letting us know; 3. Your email client is re-directing the Omega Alert into your spam or junk-mail folder. If none of the above are true, please call us so we can troubleshoot the problem. Q. The OASIS website suggests that if you choose to subscribe to OASIS, your investment should represent about 5% to 10% of your total risk capital/investment capital. What does that mean? A. We define total risk capital/investment capital as "the total value of your Treasury Bills, money market accounts, CD's, stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and other liquid financial assets." Total risk capital/investment capital does not include your annual income or home equity or represent your net worth. Q. Do I have to trade every week? What if I want a break or I will be in some faraway place on vacation? A. What you do with the suggestions in the Omega Alerts is up to you. |
